Using the right products and providing the proper maintenance to your hair is vital to summer hair care. Humidity causes frizz to your hair. A styling aid with U.V. protection is recommended after a shower or swim to provide ?shine and finish.? This provides a U.V. filter that will form an invisible screen to protect the hair from the damaging drying effects of the sun, salt and chlorine. Sun, wind, salt, and chlorine are all harsh on your hair. Heat has a drying effect on your hair. The hair's moisture content is reduced and it loses its softness. Wind dries out the hair and increases static electricity. The sun?s UV rays weaken the hair and fade the color. Salt and chlorine just attack the hair. All these factors leave your hair damaged. The hair cuticle opens up, the hair breaks, and split ends appear. The result is dry, dull and impossible to style hair. Using a styling aid with U.V. protection allows the hair to dry with natural volume but without the frizz, giving your blow-dryer and hair a rest. To ?smooth down the cuticle,? the right products are a must. A good leave-in treatment is also recommended.

Sometimes styling can be an issue. Should you desire to keep it simple, then ?a pulled back? ponytail is an option. The wet look is another quick low maintenance option. Pretty headbands are another great option, providing instant style for almost any occassion. Of course, casual styling doesn?t mean easing up on hair care. Longer styles need nurturing, starting with shampoos and conditioners that smooth and strengthen the hair. A good shampoo and conditioner helps hair fibers maintain the right moisture level so the hair fibers won?t dry out or swell with humidity and cause frizz. A proper moisture balance also makes hair stronger; resisting breakage allows for a smoother finish. Split ends are a big threat to your hair. Fight split-ends with a Split End Protector.

Summer is the season when we all want to go lighter, but since the sun will exaggerate what is done in the salon, stick to natural-looking color. Use a color-safe shampoo to make your shade last longer.

ARISH, Egypt, July 4 (Xinhua) -- At least 36 militants were killed and tens of others injured during overnight military air raids that lasted until Saturday early morning in Egypt's North Sinai province bordering the Palestinian Gaza Strip and Israel, a security source in the peninsula told Xinhua.

"The military airstrikes targeted hideouts of militants south of Sheikh Zuweid and Rafah cities of North Sinai," the source added, noting the militants belong to Sinai-based, al-Qaida-inspired Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis (ABM) group.

The raids came a few hours ahead of President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi's visit to the restive province in military uniform, where he reassured that the situation in Sinai is now "stable."

On Wednesday, dozens of self-proclaimed Islamist militants launched massive attacks against several military checkpoints in North Sinai. The military spokesman said later on in a statement that the confrontations left 100 militants and 17 army men killed.

In total, over 205 militants were killed in security raids in North Sinai since Wednesday's deadly attacks and clashes, according to the security source.

Sisi's administration has been facing mounting terrorist activities since the ouster of former Islamist President Mohamed Morsi by the military in early July 2013 and the following crackdown on his loyalist that left over 1,000 of them killed and thousands more arrested.

On the other hand, hundreds of police and army personnel were killed in terrorist attacks carried out by extremists since Morsi's removal in North Sinai and other provinces nationwide.

The ABM, which has changed its name to "Sinai State" and vowed loyalty to the regional Islamic State (IS) militant group, claimed responsibility for most of post-Morsi anti-government attacks.

On Monday, the country's top prosecutor was assassinated in a car bomb in Cairo, which is the first terrorist activity that manages to target such a senior official.

In its annual report released in late May, Egypt's National Council for Human Rights said that the violence since Morsi's removal resulted in the death of 2,600 people, including 700 police and army men, 550 civilians and 1,250 of Morsi's Muslim Brotherhood members and supporters.

Doctors in China have long given patients traditional herbal remedies, but farmers are also starting to feed them to livestock in the belief that it improves the meat.

Lambs given traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in Longxi County of Guansu Province, the center of TCM production, are selling well.

Zhang Mingxiang pioneered raising lambs on a herbal diet, and more than 150 sheep farmers in Longxi have joined his Shengyuan Farmers' Cooperative.

Zhang uses common TCM ingredients including the plant dangshen, astragalus roots and Chinese angelica in his lamb fee.
