What can I expect as a Perdue poultry farmer?
As a poultry farm owner, you’ll never punch a time clock, and you’ll have the satisfaction of leading your own business and being associated with trusted and respected brands.Get more news about Poultry Farms, you can vist our website!
For many farm families, poultry houses supplement other farm income and can provide the additional income necessary to farm full time. For other families, one partner may stay at home to manage the farm while the other maintains an outside career. Running the poultry operation is often a family undertaking.
Some farmers with multiple-house operations have taken advantage of the economies of scale to make their poultry farms the primary source of income.Contract poultry growing is common, but not all companies are the same. Perdue has opportunities for farmers to join us on a path of continuous improvement.
For more than a half century, contract poultry growing has contributed to farm income, providing generations of farm families with stable, predictable year-round revenue insulated from many of the risks associated with volatile commodity markets.
As with any agricultural venture, a poultry farm requires the right land, ongoing investments in equipment, and especially the commitment and dedication to care for and nurture living animals.Today, more than 90 percent of broiler chickens and the majority of turkeys are raised by independent farmers under contract to poultry companies, such as Perdue. These companies are referred to as integrators because of their integrated supply chain, which provides quality assurance at every step.
Tyson Foods began as a chicken business, nearly 90 years ago, and today, we are one of the leading supporters of U.S. poultry farmers. We depend on our network of small and independent farmers to supply our plants – and we only succeed when they also succeed.
We have been working with poultry farmers on a contractual basis since the late 1940s. We supply the birds and feed, as well as technical expertise, while the poultry farmer provides the labor, housing and utilities to support the birds. This benefits the farmers because it insulates the farmer from the risk of changing market prices for chicken and feed ingredients such as corn and soybean meal, which represents most of the cost of raising a chicken. So, farmers’ compensation is not dependent on what the feed costs or prices at the grocery store. This benefits American consumers because the incentive-based pay system helps keep the price of nutritious chicken affordable for millions of families and the foodservice industry.
This system has been successfully helping feed America – and the world – for nearly a century. Today, as demand for chicken goes up, it is to our benefit to help all of our partner farmers deliver healthy birds to help meet this demand. When they succeed, our own business does better. In fact, a 2022 study by Agriculture Economist, Dr. Thomas Elam found that the median income of contract poultry farmers was significantly higher than both all farm households and all U.S. households.
Today, we pay nearly $820 million annually to the more than 3,600 poultry farmers who contract with us. Traditionally, companies like Tyson provide incentives to farmers to deliver safer, healthier and better quality chickens: while every farmer gets paid a base rate, farmers who deliver birds above the average standard can receive a bonus that’s based off a points system. Simply put, Tyson pays more for better performance – a concept shared across many industries.
However, we recognize there are other ways to incentivize performance, and so we’ve been piloting different types of payment systems. For example, at our Humboldt, Tennessee facility, farmers get a base rate depending on the size of their poultry barns. They can also receive bonuses depending on the quality and efficiency of their flock.

Cloisonné pins have an ancient history that started in the Near East and gained prominence in ancient Egypt. The custom pin type gets its name from the compartments created by the raised regions of metal. These areas are called "cloisons" which means "partition" or "division" in French. Originally, these were inlaid with handcut gemstones or pieces of glass. Later this process fell out of favor and was replaced with vitreous enamel. This is the technique of creating a glass paste that is hardened in a kiln and is still very similar to the process we use to this day.
Cloisonne pins start with the same basic steps as die struck lapel pins or soft enamel lapel pins.
We start by making a custom mold and stamping your design impression into sheets or strips of the base metal . This process is called "die striking".
We then use a punch to separate the stamped impressions from the base metal sheet.
The pieces are tumbled to remove burrs and quickly hand polished and buffed to ensure good adherence for the cloisonne colorfills.
The die struck pin pieces are then laid out on sheets and the recessed areas are then filled with powdery glass-like enamel paint past the height of the metal.
Each color is filled separately and fired in a kiln at 1700 degrees.
Once cured, the pins are hand polished on a wet grinding stone until the paint is flush with the metal.
Then the next color is added and the firing, curing, and hand polishing process is repeated until all the colors are added.
Once fully colored, the pins are plated, packed and shipped!

industry features: Amorphous Core Transformers
When the amorphous Stealth Indra interconnect first hit the scene, certain cynics and skeptics immediately cried wolf and voodoo. But the subject is for real. Eliminating all crystalline boundaries in metal conductors seems to be audible. This complete elimination of the molecular lattice work can otherwise only be accomplished by eschewing metal altogether, say in favor of Carbon, other synthetic fibers or fiber optics (which could introduce their own issues).Get more news about Amorphous core, you can vist our website!
Of course the equation amorphous + audio = results isn't new. Amorphous core transformers from the likes of Tango and Tamura have long since been deluxe choices for bespoke transformer-coupled amplifiers. But how many people have listened to an amplifier outfitted with silicone steel-core transformers (the standard) and compared it directly to the equivalent amorphous core transformers while disregarding the in-between solution of permalloy cores?
Swedish transformer house Lundahl of Norrtälje now offers amorphous iron as well: "This version provides enhanced audio performance based on the greater inherent magnetic homogeneity of amorphous materials. The normal crystal boundaries that develop in conventional magnetic materials when they are fabricated are absent from amorphous magnetic materials. This is accomplished by cooling the molten iron at a rate of one million degrees per second as it is formed. The absence of crystals that behave to some degree as autonomous magnetic entities, allows amorphous materials to magnetize and demagnetize in a more 'linear', coherent fashion." On a data sheet for the LL9206 unit, it further states "this type of core does not store energy (unlike conventional mu-metal cores) so the low frequency resonance with external series capacitors is practically eliminated."
Because the AM versions use "coils and frames identical to those used in the standard silicon iron transformers", an comparative A/B audition can truly focuses on just one variable - the core material. One of our readers owns custom tube amps and has performed exactly that comparison. Not endowed with the - ahem, flowery gift of gab of certain reviewers, this fellow summarized the differences as equivalent to a speaker upgrade. In short, anything but subtle. Descriptors such as "breathing", "flowing freely", "more natural", "organic" and such peppered his approach to that final statement. Come to think of it, curiously reminiscent of my own attempts in the Indra review to quantify why it sounded different. That amorphous metal sounds different seems quite demonstrable. Describing accurately how is anything but easy since these differences don't operate in the usual domain of audiophile attributes.
One more fleck of evidence -- in my book at least -- that the emerging science of amorphous materials (DuPont for example sells amorphous Teflon with measurably different electrical behavior than the non-amorphous standard flavors) has promising implications not just for space travel and military applications but also for our harmless hobby. The only negative? The hi-tech manufacturing processes involved to produce amorphous materials is said to be very costly and advanced. Hence, those materials carry a hefty price tag when compared to their crystalline brethren and will thus likely limit their appearance to more upscale audio products.
No sooner had that last statement's ink dried on the virtual page that a reader working for Acrosound pointed out the error of my ways (which is one of my favorites things about our site - our readers are very generous and share their knowledge quickly): "The statement above is simply false. Over the last few weeks I have received prices quotes on custom C-cores made from various core materials including amorphous iron, low nickel, high nickel and nano iron. Here are just a few examples: Sample A - amorphous iron $39.50 each; 50% nickel $46 each; nano iron $58.50 each. As you can, see the 50% nickel core is in fact more expensive than the amorphous core.
Sample B - low nickel $12.75 each; high nickel $16.92 each; amorphous iron $15.25 each; nano iron $18.62 each - again, the conventional high nickel core is more expensive than the amorphous iron substitute. The pricing trend in the industry is that the amorphous iron cores are becoming the less expensive material compared to the high perm 'conventional' alloys. Just today I spoke to an industry rep regarding this pricing trend and expressed to him that I was somewhat surprised by this. To which he responded that it was logical because the amorphous iron dispenses with the most expensive material in the manufacturing process (i.e. nickel as a raw material is much more expensive than iron) and that the manufacturing process itself is becoming more cost effective (almost akin to sputtering a conductor onto a dielectric film) as opposed to the traditional method of manufacturing and processing the 'traditional' sheet forms of electrical lamination materials.
You also did not touch on the weaknesses of the amorphous and nanocrystalline core materials and failed to mention that amongst the amorphous and nano materials, there are still different alloys. Amorphous and nano is available in iron, cobalt or nickel cores. What you are seeing on the market (generally speaking) are amorphous iron cores. Amorphous cores have a notoriously poor stacking factor (K factor), hence you need to use a larger core cross section to regain the lost "effective core area". This of course entails some disadvantages in that your coil must now be larger and it changes all of the coil dynamics and electrical properties.
The Ultimate Sintered Stone Guide
If you are looking for stone for your worktops, vanity tops, bathroom cladding, or something else entirely, you’d be forgiven for thinking that your only options are natural stone (granite, marble etc.) or quartz. But there is another option available to you which may be perfect for your project.Get more news about Sintered Stone, you can vist our website!
You may have seen displays and sample boxes for products such as Neolith, Dekton or Ceralsio and may have wondered what they are. All of these manufactures make what is called Sintered Stone and we are here to let you know all about it.Like Quartz, Sintered Stone is a manufactured product made from a base of natural stone. Depending on the manufactuer, Quartz has a base of 88%-95% natural quartz stone, mixed with pigments, polymers and resins which is what bonds the slab together.
Sintered Stone is different in that it is made entirely from natural materials which are formed into incredibly strong and durable slabs which have countless applications. This process is called sintering.
What is Sintering?
The sintering process uses extreme heat and pressure to bond a material together without melting it with the resulting product being much stronger than the individual parts. We see sintering process in industry and nature, and the easiest way to visualise how it works is to imagine taking a handful of snow and compacting it into a snowball.
When making slabs of Sintered Stone, the raw materials are compacted under a huge pressure of up to 400 bars (5800 PSI!). After that, they are baked at a temperature of 1,200ºC, creating a slab of incredibly strong and versatile stone.
What are the Properties of Sintered Stone?
Sintered Stone is full of incredible benefits which make it one of the best materials you can buy for worktops and other projects. If you’ve read our Granite vs Quartz guide, then you’ll know that Granite has a higher heat resistance than quartz but is porous so requires sealing, whereas Quartz has a high stain resistance but a lower heat resistance as the resin can scorch. All of the Sintered Stone manufacturers supply their stone in 12mm thickness as standard. Some also provide 20mm thick slabs as well as thinner 6mm and 3mm slabs for flooring/ cladding.
If you are looking for a thicker worktop, we can build up the front of your worktops with a mitered edge to give the impression of a thick top.Because of the manufacturing process, most sintered stone colours are printed on the face of the slab as any deliberate pattern will not survive the sintering process. As a result, any patterned sintered stone is not full-bodied (pattern running through the thickness of the slab). Uniform designs are not affected by the sintering process and therefore do come full-bodied.
The benefit of printing however, is that you can create some incredible and unique designs you wouldn’t be able to replicate in a Quartz for example. If you want the design to run down the thickness of the slab, we can mitre the edges of your worktop and put a front to them.
Tusk says PiS-led Poland only staying in EU for the money
EU President Donald Tusk warned that Poland's right-wing government could try to drive the country out of the European Union if it stops being a net recipient of bloc funding, in an interview published Wednesday.Get more news about Stationalry Led Pis,you can vist our website!
The former liberal Polish premier and arch-rival of the governing Law and Justice (PiS) party spoke at a time when Poland is mired in conflict with the EU over various issues, including the controversial judicial reforms that led Brussels to launch unprecedented disciplinary proceedings against Warsaw last month.
"For PiS the benefit of being in the EU boils down to the balance of payments, with a complete disregard for other benefits like the common market, legal order, guaranteed security, etc," Tusk told the Tygodnik Powszechny news weekly.
"As long as we're not a net contributor, the game is worth the candle for them. So I can easily imagine a situation where if one day Poland finds itself among the (net) contributors, the Polish government will decide that it's time to ask Poles if they still want Poland in the EU and then will work hard so that they come to the conclusion that it's necessary to say goodbye to membership."This week the country's new Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki sacked his defence and foreign ministers in a major cabinet reshuffle and met with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker as part of the governing party's quest to mend the strained ties.
Tusk said it was "a sad day for all" last month when Brussels triggered article seven of the EU treaty over what it sees as "systemic threats" to the independence of the Polish judiciary from the nation's right-wing government.
Never before used against an EU member state, the proceedings can eventually lead to the "nuclear option" of the suspension of a country's voting rights within the bloc. But Tusk said "the PiS can still end this crisis by abandoning the changes to the judiciary."
The PiS government began making the changes after coming to power in late 2015 and says the reforms are needed to combat corruption and overhaul the judicial system still haunted by the communist era.
Brussels has repeatedly warned that it views the changes as a threat to the democratic principles and rule of law Poland signed up to when it joined the EU."In Brussels there's still a huge surplus of hope -- I'm not saying trust, that unfortunately vanished already -- that Poland will nevertheless remain in the EU," Tusk said.
